A WebQuest for 5th Grade Social

Introduction
You are a young male or female warrior and have traveled forward in time as a result of a terrible electro magnetic storm near your village. You have landed in Medicine Hat near the largest teepee in the world. A visiting class of grade 5 students happens to be in the area studying various native artifacts. After suitable introductions are made, you take the opportunity to tell us about your way of life. Use all the information you have learned and write a story about your life.
The Task
Your assignment is to do a final research project on one of the four Native cultures that we have studied in class. You will choose from the following: Micmac, Cree, Iroquois, and Huron. Your project will be presented in Powerpoint or Hyperstudio.
The Process
- Choose your Native tribe.
- Research your tribe using the following categories:
- Food
- Clothing
- Transportation
- Beliefs
- Keeping Order
- Homes
- Organize your information into a chart or a spider web form. You will need to have between 5 and 10 different details for each category.
- Once you have compiled all the required information write a paragraph or two on each category in Word. Taking this information you will then copy and paste it into your Hyperstudio or Powerpoint project.
- Included in the project will be the following:
- A map showing the location of your tribe
- A title page that you have drawn and scanned. Don%u2019t forget to include your name and date on this page.
- A bibliography, citing the resources you used, needs to be included on the last card/slide.
- A table of contents needs to be included after the title page.
